How To Determine The Length And Wire Gauge Of The HDMI Cable?

As we all know, HDMI cable can achieve a long signal transmission distance mainly depends on the entire system, such as the performance of the source device, the performance of the display device, the data transmission rate of the signal, the performance and length of the cable itself. It can be seen that the length of the HDMI cable is often closely related to the data transmission rate, if the distance is too long, the signal received by the HDMI device will have no image, dropped frames, snowflakes, or no sound. The method of determining the length and wire gauge of the HDMI cable is as follows:

1. In HDMI cables, AWG (American Wire Gauge) value is a function of measuring the diameter of the wire, which is what we often call the wire gauge. The AWG value is inversely proportional to the size of the wire diameter, the smaller the value, the thicker the wire diameter, the greater the current that can be carried, and the longer the number of meters supported for transmission, but the corresponding price is more expensive.

2. Determine the required length by measuring the distance between the devices. We know that it is possible to change the length of the general Modem cable if there is a tool, but HDMI does not allow this. So, be sure to determine the length between the devices you want to connect.

3. The standard HDMI cable can transmit at least 15 meters of 1080i signals. A high-speed HDMI cable carries a 1080p signal of at least 7.5 meters.

4. The larger the wire gauge number, the finer the diameter and the greater the attenuation. Therefore, it is better to buy a coarse one. But pay attention to some inferior products, deliberately use thick skin, causing the illusion of thick lines.
