What Are The Interface Types Of HDMI Cables?

What are the interface types of HDMI cables?

At present, in smart TVS, digital cameras, portable players, mobile phones, tablets, in other areas, in fact, you need HDMI cables. HDMI is a digital video/audio interface technology for high-definition multimedia, which is a special digital interface suitable for image transmission, and can transmit audio and image signals at the same time, without the need for digital-to-analog or analog-to-digital conversion before signal transmission. However, due to different application fields, the interface types of HDMI cables are also divided into many kinds. So do you know what types of interfaces HDMI cables have?

There are five types of HDMI cable interfaces: A, B, C, D, and E.

1.Characteristic

HDMI Type A is A very widely used HDMI cable, HDMI A interface has a total of 19 pins and a width of 13.9mm. General flat-screen TVS or video devices provide interfaces of this size, and Type A has 19 pins with a width of 13.9mm and a thickness of 4.45mm. 99% of the audio and video devices used in daily life today are equipped with interfaces of this size. For example: Blu-ray player, millet set-top box, laptop, LCD TV, projector and so on.

2.Type B

HDMI Type B is relatively rare in life. The HDMI B interface uses 29pin and is 21mm wide. HDMI Type B has almost twice the data transmission capacity of HDMI Type A and is equivalent to DVI Dual-Link. Since most audio and video devices operate below 165MHZ, HDMI Type B operates at frequencies above 270MHZ. Therefore, it is completely too "powerful" for home applications, and is now only used in some professional situations, such as Woxga 2560*1600 resolution.

3.Type C (Type-C) HDMI Type C

Often referred to as Mini HDMI, it is primarily designed for small devices. HDMI Type C also uses 19pin, its size is 10.42*2.4mm, which is nearly 1/3 smaller than type A, and the application range is very small, mainly for portable equipment, such as digital cameras, portable players and other equipment.

4.Type D HDMI Type D is commonly known as MICRO HDMI. HDMI Type D is a new interface type that is further reduced in size. It has a two-row pin design, also 19pin, and is only 6.4 mm wide and 2.8 mm thick, much like a Mini USB port. Mainly used for small mobile devices, more suitable for carry-on and vehicle use equipment. For example: mobile phones, tablets, etc.

5.type E HDMI Type E is mainly used for audio and video transmission of in-vehicle entertainment systems. Due to the instability of the internal environment, the HDMI E is designed to be shock-proof, moisture-proof, high-strength, and has a large temperature tolerance range. In terms of physical structure, mechanical locking design is adopted to ensure contact reliability.

The above describes the common interface types of HDMI cables. When we choose HDMI cable, we must pay attention to choosing the appropriate HDMI cable interface type according to the equipment we use, so as to better ensure the transmission effect of HDMI cable, so as to bring you a good experience.
