What's the difference between an audio cable and an audio cable?
Audio cable, also known as speaker cable, is mainly used for the connection between the power amplifier and the main speaker and the surround speaker in the home theater, that is, for connecting the power amplifier and the speaker. Compared with video and audio lines, its circulating current signal is relatively large, and because of the large signal amplitude, audio lines are often not shielded. For this type of wire, the key is to reduce its resistance, because the output resistance of modern power amplifiers is very low, so the requirements for the speaker wire have also been improved, such as the selection of large cross-sectional area or multi-stranded wire. So how do you tell the difference between an audio cable and an audio cable?
1. Audio cable:
Audio wire directly through the power signal, because through the current is large, usually the copper core of the wire will be relatively thick, in order to ensure high frequency through and reduce resistance attenuation, mostly silver plated, gold plated or oxygen-free copper wire. Audio cables are generally divided into two types, which are divided into copper-plated audio cables and oxygen-free copper audio cables.
In general, oxygen-free copper is positive and tinned copper is negative. The color of the double leather is red, both sides are brass, oxygen free copper core, and the positive electrode is marked by red line. The audio cable is composed of a corresponding number of copper cores, generally the more copper cores, the better the effect, the higher the price. But if it is a home line or an ordinary speaker line, in fact, 200-300 is enough. Audio line is used to transmit electro-acoustic signal or data line, through small current or small power signal, high impedance, easy to be interfered with, so generally shielded line, line diameter is generally relatively thin. The types of audio cables can be divided into "audio electrical cable" and "audio optical signal cable" two categories of cables.
2. The difference between audio lines:
The audio line mainly transmits the power signal, so the speaker line is required to have excellent electrical conductivity and high-quality transmission capability. Currently, oxygen-free copper audio cables, also known as gold and silver wires, are more mainstream and have less resistance. Audio gold and silver wires are usually unshielded because the current signal circulating in them is larger than the audio and video wires, and the amplitude of the signal is larger. The most important is the reduced resistance line, the power amplifier transmission impedance is very low.
The audio line passes through a low-power, small-current signal, with high impedance and easy to be interfered with, so it is generally a shielded line, and the line is relatively thin. Audio lines are usually shielded, but audio lines are often unshielded, and the key is to reduce the resistance. The more audio lines on Shennan Avenue, the better. The most expensive is the oxygen-free copper speaker wire, which is mainly characterized by good electrical conductivity and low resistivity.
Audio electrical signal cable can be used for mobile phones, CD players, MP3 music output signal equipment connected to the power amplifier between the connection line.
Speaker cable is mainly used for all kinds of loudspeakers, PA projects, home theater connections, public space broadcast systems, etc.
