What Is An OBD Line?

OBD interface definition and function:

OBD interface is connected to the vehicle ECU (electronic control unit) interface, through the decoder connection can see whether the car has a fault code and fault records, to help maintenance personnel quickly judge the car fault, improve maintenance efficiency.

 

OBD system originated in the 1960s of the last century, with the rich configuration of the car and the complexity of the electrical system, OBD system gradually developed and standardized, and the OBD2 version is widely used.

 

The OBD interface has a total of 16 pins, each with a different function:

 

(1)Pins 2 and 10 are the positive and negative poles of the SAE J1850 bus.

(2)Pins 6 and 14 are CAN bus high and low.

 

(3)Pin 7 is K-Line

 

(4)Pin 15 is L-Line.

 

(5)Pin 16 is the normal power supply.
